Furthermore, it actually booted up my previous installation of Windows! I had to activate it again because so much hardware had changed, but I seem to be up and running. I still have a 640GB drive waiting to be used, and I will be putting 64-bit Vista on it and gradually setting that up as my new system.

I should hopefully be able to start looking at my stack of submitted bugs tomorrow.

I did have a couple of PDFs that it wouldn't view correctly, but Foxit would. For free, I can't really complain though.

Since it's a Portable App, you can just copy it onto a Flash Drive and use it anywhere...even machines you don't have admin rights to. *cough* work *cough*

No mucking around with the registry, either.  Always a good thing.

I suspect the processor, but it may be the motherboard. On the positive side, this gives me a good opportunity to upgrade some core components that were getting a bit dated. On the bad side, I'll have to completely reinstall everything and hope the hard crash didn't trash what I was working on at the time (implementing skills and powerups into Muties).

The replacement parts are on order. With the holidays, etc., it may be a few days before I can get back to work on things here. But now you won't have to panic at my mysterious silence.
