Topic: Helloooooo.... is there anybody out there?

Howdy ho folks... I just popped back in for a little look around. Seems quite quiet though... how are things these days?
I jumped bacl on my ol' character for some more fun... but can't seem to use ranged attacks? Each time I push 'W' it says, "Changed to Melee"... and when I click opn a arget thats within range, it tells me that its too far away for a melee attack?

Anyways... wanted to have a good look around, I see the maps are quite a bit more expansive now smile

Heya Truck, good to see you around!

I hadn't heard of problems with the combat mode switching, you might try unequipping/re-equipping your weapon and see how that works. I haven't worked on this much lately because of the baby...and because of the new version (yes, version 3). What started as a few "tweaks" has become a complete rewrite. This will be the last rewrite, one way or another...

Version 3 huh... so that will be a new start out again for characters?
have tried to change things around, and changed for various weapons... maybe I jus tdon't have the right sized stone for my slingshot. smile

How far away will be version 3? Might just hang back and wait for that. smile

Version three will be mostly a new start for your characters. The rewrite turned out to be so major that there isn't really any choice. But like I said, this is the last time, and existing players will get some "extras" for their trouble. How much will depend on the wealth and experience of their current characters.

Version 3 is still a ways off, but I am working on it, really! smile

Awesome... well i will definitly be watching this space... my wife and I are about to head into the jungle for 3 months... quite literally in some points, as am going to South America for 3 months... so will check back in after and see where things are at.

My new character her defenitely isn't well advanced... some donor coins though. smile  So will hook back into it then then. :0

Ahhh...I was wondering how far off the transition would be.  I assumed it would be delayed because of the new baby.  Sadly, they can't quite take care of themselves for a while.  My two kids both came down with fevers of 103+ yesterday, which was not a fun thing.

I think I've experienced this deja vu before...

The baby definitely slows things down (but doesn't stop them). When I put up the new version, it will be like Muties 2.0 was (uploaded to a special url, passwords given to beta testers).

Bad news about the fevers...that can't be any fun!

Sweet... well, I'm free to be a Beta tester again if ou need em... also, arwork, creative texts, that sort of thing... (though I dare say you must have quite a bit of that by now)... just ask

oh... and I managed to use ranged weapons now. Turns out for some reason the Slingshot I had was faulty... really... I'm guessing my profile is a bit buggy, it is very old and all... smile But possibly ID #'s are a bit skew wiff or something, as every store I go to has the same items for sale... yet when I buy something, it becomes something else... I'm guessing the item that was supposed to be in that slot. hence, what I was seeing as a Slingshot, was really something else, and that something else (possible bear droppings) wasn't able to be used as a ranged weapon./.. ?

OK...I thought that was just happening to me.  I submitted a bug report because it happened shortly after my PC stole something.  Next store I visit had the same items as the previous store, but with much different chances to steal the item.  When I stole a "longbow," it turned into a serving of salt.

Lol... I got serving salt too... though i wasn't attempting thievery.

I made a new character, and its a bit different with the new character. People get icons above them, there are noises to my actions, and stores have different items in them.
So maybe our characters are a bit skew from old age... I'd ask for a reset of my characters, but with MFoN III: Revenge of the Botulous Infected Potatoe Larvae coming out, I shan't be too bothered by it.

I took a look at those two submitted bugs...I have to admit to being a little baffled about why those would show up after so long (nothing's changed in a very long time now). Considering version 3 coming, and the fact that I'd have to go dig that old version out and set it back up locally to sort it out, I may just pretend I didn't see those. smile

And I do like the subtitle "Revenge of the Botulous Infected Potatoe Larvae".
