As a way to get your reputation in a location (or with a particular faction) from negative values to neutral, would it be possible to do some Community Service? Basically, speak with either the leader or law enforcement of the faction/city, and spend a certain number of actions to get your reputation back to zero. Maybe three actions per point of reputation?

If you had a -10 at Choctaw, for example, speak with the town leader. He would give you a choice to do community service to get your reputation back up to zero. Thirty actions would be deleted from your total, and your reputation would go back up to zero. If you only had 15 actions, then you would only get a +5 to your reputation, leaving you with a total of -5 (which you could fix the following day.)

Thoughts, anyone?

I was thinking the other day that there should be something local to most areas that you could do to grind up the reputation. Bandits, gathering supplies, etc. Kind of like a small recurring quest. But I wasn't really thinking so much of just an actions grind for it.

That would work as well...simple, quick quests to raise up your reputation by a little bit for each one you carried out. Maybe a small reward as well.

The action grind was a first thought...mainly because that would be the easiest for you to code. :-)

Great idea. Right now, I'm sorta the Osama Bin Laden of Choctaw. So I'd like to fix that.

Choctaw??? I assume you tried (and failed quite miserably) to steal some of the bows there?

My character with the negative 1800-ish reputation with Spencer laughs in your general direction.

Before I knew how stealing worked, I tried many many times to steal bows. Oh, and to be clear, I have horrible reputation with Spencer as well. As I don't need anything from them, however, I don't count it.

Anything further on this topic? I just got caught (despite a 97% chance of success) stealing a pair of boots. Getting rid of Wanted! was easy enough, but the reputation hurt is still there...

Work has been slaughtering me lately, so I haven't been working on the game as much as I'd like...but I am still working!

Not a problem...I'll just avoid that part of the world for the time being. Good thing they don't sell the ammo there!!

Actually, I had a glitch while I was getting all that working, and ended up with six. Since it's on a development server, I haven't had a recent to fix it for my account.
