I am, without a doubt, the most competitive person you will ever know when it comes to computer games. Truck and I both got Oblivion around the same time, and I would go days without sleep to try and catch up to him. For this reason, I pine for a leader board. I need to know I'm the best, and if I'm not, I need to make myself the best. Is this doable? Where could it go?
Leaderboards are on my list. In fact, the game is already capturing data just for that, but it's not being displayed anywhere yet. I'll probably take a kinder, gentler approach to the lists this time and generate a static list during NiMROD, which you'll be able to view as a normal web page on the site.

though, to make it easier to assess the distance you are away from people, perhaps you could have a 'APs used' beside their anme... or just have an APs used leaderboard... will give some perspective to the boards.
and btw Phreak... you so know that my Alchemist/Ranger/Sorcerer could always eat your warrior... 
something about an arrow dipped in a poison that does 80 damage per second for 400 seconds thats a little unnerving
Well, one thing I'm not tracking is number of actions used.
We need more actions! And stop taking away my actions when I talk to people. Grr.
I thought you bought more actions, and I took away the action cost from conversations when you just say "bye".

I think about 75 actions would be a good number. Beta testers should maybe get more during the test, so they can test more.
One of the main things we're testing is how well 50 actions works. Personally I think 50 is fine. Maybe every Sunday we could get an extra 50 for all those that need more? The main idea of restricting actions is to stop them playing so much, as Erryn has to pay for bandwidth and it's not cheap, even now days.

Something about me getting 100 destruction skill and being able to cast a spell that does 110 damage 3 times (fire, frost, lightning) in 2 secconds. You have 660 hp?

If you want more actions, donate to the Order of the Monks and get some Uber tokens. Five Uber Tokens gets you 20 extra actions per day. This is why my Beta character has the Uber Perk for Amazing Endurance x5. This way, I get an extra 100 actions per day to test a whole bunch of stuff and find lots of errors. So far, I think that Brother Erryn would agree that it's been successful.
Once the real game starts, I won't put all of my Ubers into that bonus. I'll still take a couple of levels, but others would be far more useful.

Ahhh...the joys of Reflect Damage.
I actually preferred Morrowind to Oblivion. Far less likely to crash to desktop.
Yea, useually it likes to crash on me... much more beautiful though Oh, and reflect damage is effective, but generally much more expensive than the spells cast at you.

I'm sure mummy would agree that it's a worth while cause... We just need a good photo of Erryn at his computer in ratty cloths, scruffy hair and beard, with coffee spilled all over the keyboard, with his left eye twitching wildly. The whole 'lost puppy' routine

I did this only to help test as many things as I could. Once the game starts for real, I'll definitely knock it down a bit. Use the other Ubers for other special abilities!

No offense taken. Today was actually the first day I started with 500 actions... Like I said, I've been testing out a lot of things. Searching, crafting, the deer quest took forever!!!

The first time it took very few actions. Mainly because I found a bug in the code where the number of deerskins you handed over wasn't actually checked. I completed it with 2 skins instead of the required 6. :-)
When I had to complete it for real, it took a couple of days. Not sure how many actions...but it was a lot.
