Topic: New Faces
I'm in the process of redoing the faces (taking a short break from Meers), and the interface for building them. Here's an early preview of how it looks:

Lots more color, as you can see. And "extras" to attach...in this example, a smoldering cigar. These faces also more closely follow basic principles of human faces, which makes them a little easier to look at. The character designer is also on the same panel as where you pick an existing character.
What's still to be added is the upper and lower body parts. Yes, you'll be using this to create your in-game sprite too, instead of just selecting one of a limited few. Your designed head will be part of it automatically.
When this is done, the old graphic styles won't be any good any more. That means you'll have a default face (unless like me or a few others you've uploaded a custom graphic...those will be left alone), and will need to design your character's appearance again.
