Topic: Low level crafting recipes

Call me crazy, but I'm not a big fan of keeping recipes secret, at least at the lower levels of items.  My suggestion is that instead of the Deerskin shop giving you cash every time you bring her 20 skins, how about she gives you a choice between getting a new recipe or the cash?  Either that, or she offers to trade another 10 skins for another recipe until all the basic leather recipes are exhausted Spoiler:

(leggings, jacket, utility belt, boots, and the deerskin helmet)
  Then after that she'll go back to the way it is now, giving you the cash for the skins.

And hey, what the heck, repeat that process in each town with the next level of clothing...  Yeah, I know, I'm crazy.  big_smile

I'm not sure I want to just give out a large number of recipes straight away. It's intentional that you can pick up one recipe from her on that initial quest.

Also, recipes are not level-based. Any time you have the tools and materials, you can make the recipe. Once you've made a recipe the first time, it becomes a "learned" recipe in your list. One exception is "training required" recipes that will show up in Meers when that area opens, but no "training required" recipes are in the Casa Vista area.

Well then, how about just rather than give you a random leather recipe, she gives you that nifty deerskin helmet one, since that's the only item of equipment that she doesn't sell you.   Okay, I just really want that helmet recipe.  big_smile

You can always experiment to make it, or get it from somebody else...or it might even be in the Wiki. smile

I actually had a Deerskin helmet up for auction recently, but there were no bids for it.  Maybe some sort of notification for auctions that are posted?

What about a crafting recipe swap shop?

Wanted - Recipe X
Have - Recipe A, B, C

Or just set up someting in one of the forums, perhaps?  I'll make a new Forum and see what happens...
